Dan Bailey’s Outdoor Company in Livingston has been rounding up some of the impressive fly talent from the shop and surrounds of late and producing some quality tying vids; see more here.

I missed this piece when it dropped back in February – a nice read from American Rivers on Montana’s Legacy of River Protection. (Image via the linked post.)

A hearty Tuesday attaboy to Dale Sexton and his team at Dan Bailey’s Outdoor Company in Livingston, Montana (next door to Gil’s on Park); Dale and his team bought the (some might say languishing) fly shop and merged it with his thriving outdoor company, breathing new life into the legendary fly shop side of the business and expanding his offerings on the outdoor side.

Our own Jake is part of their team managing their active social media and helping flesh out their photographic and video offerings. We’ll be up there in a few weeks and will try and nail the crew down for an interview, more to come.

Attaboy.

In their 1 April meeting the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission spent time discussing whether or not to delay implementation of the new rules and regs for the Madison River that have generated such spirited discussion over the past few years. The commission voted 4-1 to advance the rule change (delay the implementation); once filed with the Sec. of State a public comment period opens, with a final vote to be taken 24 June per current schedule.

Here’s the 1 April meeting agenda and an 8+ (!) hour recording of the zoom meeting; here’s the specific changes pertinent to the Madison plan that were discussed.

Here’s an example of local (puff) media coverage from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle (image above from their article).

Told ‘ya this story is far, far from over…

Many of us who incorporate a faith practice into our lives find the Easter morning sunrise to hold special significance; if you’re among that cadre, all the best to your and yours today, with hopefully time with family and a great meal on the docket.

All the best as well to those for whom it’s just another gorgeous sunrise in the mountains…

Today over on the Older Bolder Life I’ve posted a nifty recipe for a Quick Kung Pao Shrimp you can do at home that’ll rival just about any take out you’ve been enjoying over the past year (or more). I’d encourage you to do some digging and make your own Kung Pao sauce (I’ll be posting recipe in a few weeks) though a good commercially prepared sauce will play too.

The recipe format works for just about any protein you’d want to throw in as well. Hot damn, this one’s good.

Cheers.
