Today over on the Older Bolder Life I’ve posted this nifty recipe for a Simple Chicken Adobo, a recipe that we were gifted decades ago from a lovely Filipino couple we fished and recreated with back in the day.

This one is crazy easy, and so damned tasty you’ll come back to it again and again if it’s not in your rotation now.

Cheers.

Despite it feeling like the earth had been quaking beneath our feet for much of 2020, in the Greater Yellowstone region, earthquake numbers were more or less average (even on the low side) for 2020. More from this issue of Yellowstone Caldera Chronicles…

There’s an issue brewing regarding a “glampground” (an upscale campground) in the floodplain of the Gallatin near Bozeman; Montana friends have been reading about this one in the news for some time. The Gallatin County Planning Commission meets this afternoon to consider evidence and comments that have been submitted regarding the development, and there’s still time to throw your two cents in if you’re a Gallatin River user – see links below.

What follows is more detailed explanation recently emailed from the MGTU folks in Bozeman…

MGTU email in larger, full browser view.
8 Jan 20 Petition from the Missouri River Waterkeeper and a host of Montana-based groups in opposition to the project.
MGTU letter to the planning board December 20.
Email the planning board here.

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation has recently dropped their annual State of the Bay Report – read it here.

Winston has dropped their new AIR rod line recently, and being a Winston fan for years now, I have to admit these rods look damned interesting. They have a nice vid about the line currently posted on the landing page of their website, and product pages for the new AIR 2 freshwater/trout rods, the Saltwater versions, and two-handed versions.

I can’t get my hands on one of these locally right now, but will be casting a set in Montana in a few weeks…

Today over on the Older Bolder Life I’ve post this nifty Jalapeño Garlic Cucumber Salad v. Quick Pickle recipe to add a quick and easy side (or salad) to your winter menu plans. This one scores big on the taste to effort scale and is simple enough for a kid to stir together.

And for those of us craving great taste and interesting textures to brighten up a blah, cold January, this one fits the bill perfectly.

Cheers.
