During a very interesting conversation with a fly fishing and hunting publishing guy this past week (at his request, nameless here), an interesting tangent came up in which he asked me what I thought was the most influential non-professional fly fishing piece written in American magazine literature during the past decade – influential in terms of casting fly fishing in an interesting enough light to effectively engage more prospective fishers who otherwise might not have been interested.
I hemmed and hawed and finally asked what he thought were several of the best pieces – he responded with a link to this article from Garden and Gun back in 2014 – Fly Fishing’s All Star Cast. Would have been one hell of a weekend, and is still a great read.
