Træna, located on the Arctic Circle 33 nautical miles off Helgeland coast, is Norway’s oldest fishing community and an archipelago of more than 1000 small, flat skerries, only five of which are inhabited. Of these, Husøy has most of Træna’s population and the adjacent island of Sanna features an iconic miniature mountain range running the length of its spine and culminating with the 318m high Trænstaven spire. Despite the beautiful surroundings, only two islanders still live on Sanna year round. Træna is a small yet diverse, creative and vibrant community with its own Artist Residence that welcomes creatives, businesses and chefs from all over the World…
