Friday Feast 30 August 2019: Thai-Inspired Coconut Steak Kabobs

It’s been a fairly longstanding tradition here on Chi Wulff that we post the rib recipe we’re going to serve the traditional gathering of friends we host at some point over the Labor Day long weekend.

As (most) traditions are at some time destined to be broken, today over on the Older Bolder Life I’ve posted this Thai-Inspired Coconut Steak on a Stick recipe that’ll be on our menu come Monday afternoon.

We were a bit late to the combination of beef, coconut, and traditional Thai seasonings party, but damn, that’s a pretty tasty combination that just seems to play incredibly well. With fall coming up shortly, we’ll be adding these Thai-Inspired Slow Roasted Short Ribs and this Coconut Braised Chuck Roast with Gremolata back into the rotation too.

And for you kitchen gear-heads, here’s a short piece on why I’m moving from cast iron to carbon steel cookware for most of what we’re cooking these days…

May your long weekend bring time to take a deep breath, throw small dries to picky risers, and enjoy some great food.

Cheers.
