Once again from the good folks at Loon Outdoors, and via Kara Armano (thanks Kara!), I’m honored to bring you this “get your week started off right” giveaway from Loon this morning.

As I’ve said before, Loon Outdoors has long been a leader in providing innovative gear for fly fishers and tyers, and like many of you, I’ve been amazed over the years to see new developments in gear come along, as well as some well-thought-out and much needed tweaks in essential gear we’ve all carried for years.

Here’ a great example of one of those nifty gear tweaks; today’s giveaway is one of Loon’s Rogue Quickdraw Mitten Clamps, brand-spanking new in the bag. There are several things I really appreciate about these clamps, their sharp matte black (rust-resistant) finish duly noted.

First, they’re unusually well machined, and I really like the flat, geometrically angled jaws with a scissor included. They’re hefty surgical stainless but not too heavy, with a very comfortable handle (they say it’s double-dipped for comfort), sized for big hands, even wearing mittens, and the carabiner finger loop makes them easy as pie to store and reach when needed.

By the time you grabbed these retail and shipped them home, you’d be dropping something north of 30 bucks and it’d be worth every penny. If these look like something you need hanging from your gear cluster or belt, fire an email here with Loon Mitten Clamps in the subject line and we’ll pack these babies up and ship them out Priority on the 16th of August in time for those fall hatch trips.

Cheers.
