This week’s Friday Feast over on the Older Bolder Life is this amazingly tasty, and easy, Shawarma Chicken with Tahini Yogurt Sauce.
Ever since Jess spent ten days in Jordan last year, bringing back some astoundingly tasty olive oil and regional spices, we’ve been playing around with various Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes, including trying a whole pile of home-cooked shawarma recipes.
This one might not be absolutely authentic, but it’s quick, simple, and damned tasty. Of course the chicken can be grilled, though the quick, high-heat bake in the oven is child’s play, and makes this one possible during the work-week too. Perfect in a pita, we’ve been enjoying this over a salad as per the recipe; it’s great cold and would make an amazing river lunch as well.
