The Natural Resources Management Act (S.47, read it all it’s legalese-speak here) has passed through the Senate (92-8 vote, something all but unheard of in this day and age) and is headed to the House, where it will no doubt be changed to some degree, given the whining by groups such as the NRDC and others.
The legislation as it stands is GREAT for Montana and the Yellowstone region, though the bill encompasses much more than you might have originally guessed, including permanent reauthorization of the LCWF. Outside Online has a decent summary of the bill’s coverage here.
DC remains the dysfunction junction, and will be so for the foreseeable future, though you have to give them an attaboy for getting this one through the Senate side.
