The Osprey, the International Journal of Salmon and Steelhead Conservation, dropped their September issue a few weeks back and I flat out missed it during a busy fall season.
Put forth by an interesting consortium of groups (The Conservation Angler, Fly Fishers International, Steelhead Society of British Columbia, Skeena Wild, World Salmon Forum, Trout Unlimited and Wild Steelhead Coalition), The Osprey takes a fairly serious look at issues impacting salmon and steelhead, and is a worthy read for those who give a damn about preserving steelhead in particular. They are, given their founding groups above, clearly biased toward West coast issues, though there’s an interesting piece about Great Lakes steelhead in this issue.
