For years we’ve been picking up tying materials from Montana Fly Company; no telling how much of their stuff lines the boxes of tying stocks for both Jake and I these days (short answer – a hell of a lot). Back a few years, when we were running our horse operation in the Flathead between Kalispell and Columbia Falls, we’d often blitz through chores on Sunday mornings and run up to the Montana Coffee Traders in Columbia Falls for breakfast. (Look for the Big Sky or the Sayulita Siesta on the breakfast menu, and if you can catch the Fish Taco special for Friday lunch, you’ve just scored big time…)
Wow, are they good, and serve some of the best coffee in the Northern Rockies (look for some of the Flathead Cherry beans to take home too). It’s a must stop next time you’re up that way fishing the Flathead main (or any of the Forks) or headed in or out of Glacier.
