Today’s Apple Cider Margarita comes via Abby in Michigan where she tends bar, goes to school, and dates a fly fishing guide.
She actually shared a couple of great fall cocktails based on apples and a couple of cherished products that follow Michigan’s bountiful apple harvest (reportedly over 900 million pounds of apples per year!) – apple cider and hard cider.
Thanks Abby; we’ll be putting this one to the test in Montana next week…
1 ounce fresh apple cider
3/4 ounce good tequila
1/2 ounce orange liqueur of choice
1/2 tbsp fresh squeeze orange juiceGarnish: Cinnamon sugar, cinnamon sticks, apple slices
Throw some ice in the shaker, and add the cider, tequila, orange liqueur, and orange juice; shake, shake, shake.
Rim the (rocks) glasses if desired with cinnamon sugar, strain the cocktail in over fresh ice, and garnish with the apple slices and a cinnamon stick.
Enjoy.
