Another one from compadre EH down in South Texas feature once again his favorite Rio Grande citrus – the Ruby Red grapefruit (though of course any grapefruit will do in a pinch).
EH says this Siesta cocktail is one of his wife’s very favorite summer concoctions, and is a snap to shake up quickly.
That earns a ‘nuff said’ during these late, smokey, and danged-hot dog days of summer.
2 ounces good tequila blanco
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce simple syrup
1/2 ounce Campari
1/2 ounce fresh grapefruit juice (EH uses a bit more sometimes…)Garnish: Lime wheel
Into your trusty shaker go the tequila blanco, lime juice, simple syrup, Campari, and grapefruit juice; fill the shaker with ice and shake, shake, shake.
Strain through a slotted spoon into a chilled glass, garnish, and go to it.
Enjoy.
