This week’s tasty adult beverage comes via Jeff in Tucson, who noted that as we barrel towards early summer in some parts of the country, it’s not too early to enjoy this unusual combination of cucumber and ginger – The Lotus.

And while summer is in sight, it’s worth mentioning that late-spring May is a fine month to spend a few days in the desert Southwest, anyone headed to Moab (or northern Arizona) during the few weeks?

Cheers.

1.5 ounces Hendrick’s Gin
o.75 ounces Ginger liqueur (Domaine du Canton)
4 pieces sliced cucumber
2 ounces club soda

Quarter three slices of cucumber and muddle in a mixing glass with the Domaine du Canton; add the Gin and the equivalent of a scoop of ice.

Shake, shake, shake, then strain into a pre-chilled (cocktail) glass, top with soda, and garnish with the remaining cucumber slice.

Cheers.
