This week’s tasty adult beverage comes from Eli in Driggs; he wrote –

…Here’s one I don’t think you guys have posted before – the Scofflaw. We picked this one up from my father-in-law who grew up just outside of “Atlanna”, and who like all dyed-in-the-wool Southerners seems to favor good bourbon above all other adult libations. The citrus notes complement the bourbon nicely without burying it, and be sure and shake this one until it’s really, really well chilled.

Word has it this cocktail was first shaken together in Paris during Prohibition in the US…

‘Nuff said.

2 ounces bourbon
1 ounce dry vermouth
1/2 ounce good Grenadine (make some)
1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
2 dashes orange bitters

Pour all ingredients into your trusty ice-filled shaker and shake, shake, shake. Strain into a chilled (cocktail) glass and go to it.

Cheers.
