Well, the coffee based Coffee Rum Punch posted nearly a month ago seems to have resonated with a lot of folks based on the number of other coffee / coffee concentrate adult beverage recipes that have come in over the past weeks.
Being big fans of the traditional Dark and Stormy, as well as growing admirers of mezcal, we were particularly intrigued by today’s recipe for the Spark and Stormy.
Being absolutely above board here – we have not yet shaken one of these together yet – though we’re having some with friends this weekend after picking up some Drambuie and a bunch of fresh basil in the morning.
Make your own coffee concentrate and this one’ll be a cinch.
1 ounce Drambuie
1/2 ounce Mezcal
2 ounces coffee concentrate
1 ounce pineapple juice
Club soda to topGarnish: Basil leaves
Combine the Drambuie, mezcal, coffee concentrate, and pineapple juice in a shaker with ice and shake, shake, shake.
Strain into an ice-filled (Collins) glass, then top with the club soda.
Garnish with the basil leaves and go to it.
