She Who Must Be Obeyed and I are back from a run to home country and spent a couple of days in Laramie en route (what a great Western college town).

There’s a bevy of creative food options in the old downtown, one of which was serving these – The Gin Buck – as an evening special. Our waiter reminded us the drink was a Roaring 20s favorite back in the day, destined to make a comeback among gin fans given it’s tart simplicity.

By the way, we very well may have had the best burger in years at Born in a Barn in Laramie – if you’re in the neighborhood you better give ‘em a spin.

1 and 1/2 ounces Gin
Juice of half a lemon (or lime)
Ginger ale

Garnish: Lemon or lime wedge

Grab a (Collins) glass, fill with ice, and add the gin. Squeeze in the lemon or lime juice.

Top with ginger ale and give it a quick stir.

Garnish and go to it.

Enjoy.
