She Who Must Be Obeyed and I are on the way to Livingston and stopped over in what has become over the past couple of years one of our favorite Wyoming towns – Laramie.

Tucked down just under the pass on 80 from Cheyenne, with the Snowy Range just off to the South, the river running along the south edge of town, and the University of Wyoming dominating town center, this community of thirty thousand or so has that funky, Old (genuine) West meets university-ecclectic that used to characterize places like Bozeman back in the old days.

The old downtown, where SWMBO shot the parking lot fish mural above, is rife with a host of stunningly good eateries and shops. Breakfast this morning at the Prairie Rose was the best we’ve had in years (get the breakfast quesadilla with the green chile sauce) and shockingly inexpensive.

While we’re headed back to home country for some property work and play (rivers blowing out this week with a flush of warm weather), Jess is in Peru, having left Cusco (image below) for 10 days on 4 different Peruvian rivers. More to come on that story.
