The Montana Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers has been championing an idea for over a year now that is sheer genius – The Quiet Waters Initiative – a set of proposals to help preserve the non-motorized solitude and character of some of Montana’s iconic waterways.

Montana’s FWP has taken a hard look at the proposal and is rolling out a series of public meetings early in the New Year for comment, scheduled as below –
- 03 January 2017: FWP Region 1 Office, Kalispell, 6 pm
- 04 January 2017: FWP Region 2 Office, Missoula, 6 pm
- 05 January 2017: FWP Region 3 Office, Bozeman, 6 pm
- 09 January 2017: FWP Region 5 Office, Billings, 6 pm
- 11 January 2017: FWP Region 4 Office, Great Falls, 6 pm
- 11 January 2017: FWP HQ Office, Helena, 6 pm
