Several meetings were recently held around Southwest Montana to allow folks who love and appreciate the Madison River to share their concerns and suggestions with Montana FWP regarding the evolving Madison River Recreation Plan.
FWP asked specifically for responses to a set of questions (see below) and tomorrow is the deadline to submit responses to Cheryl Morris via email.
Git ‘er done if you’ve not chimed in yet.
Madison River Listening Session Questions:
1) From Lyon Bridge to Ennis, Montana: Because of concerns about congestion, crowding, and social conflict, have we come to a point in time where there is a need for FWP to regulate when and where the public or river service providers can recreate on this stretch of the river, or the types of recreation that are allowed on this stretch of the river? If yes, why? If no, why not?
2) From Hebgen Dam to Lyon Bridge (where fishing from a boat is currently prohibited): Because of concerns about congestion, crowding, and social conflict, have we come to a point in time where there is a need for FWP to regulate when and where the public or river service providers can recreate on this stretch of the river, or the types of recreation that are allowed on this stretch of the river? If yes, why? If no, why not?
