Simplicity is the key to brilliance.

How true, how true (much more often than not).
Another gem of a recipe, a genius three ingredient recipe from Eden K., sent in from southern Florida by a self described “fly fishing bartender with a serious Belize habit”. She writes –
…surely you guys have enjoyed this one when the Ruby Reds are in down in The Valley. I’ve tended bar and worked in the kitchens at several lodges in Belize, Costa Rica and Mexico; this Salty Dog even ends up being fairly popular first thing in the morning depending on who’s in house and what they’ve been doing the 24 hours prior.
You can play with different vodka flavors but I think it’s best to let the grapefruit shine through if you’ve got fresh juice on hand…
Dang it, the Ruby Reds are gone by now but this one is on the weekend list; Ruby Sweets should come in by early October…
8 ounces grapefruit juice
4 ounces vodka
1 tbsp sea salt or small rock saltGarnish: Grapefruit peel or eighth
Rim a large glass with the salt of your choice; fill with ice.
Pour the vodka then the grapefruit juice, stir well. Garnish if you must.
Enjoy.
