Yesterday afternoon around 2 a fire broke out ‘about a mile up Roaring Lion road’ from a NF trailhead (according to the Missoulian), roughly 5 miles south of Hamilton.
Low humidity and high winds pushed a blowup that had chewed through 2000 acres by the evening; structures have been destroyed and evacuations are in place.
