“Whether or not we care to admit it, buried deep within most fly fishers is a history of learning to fish with a bait or spin casting rig…“, something that many purist elitist bastard fly fishers would never fess up to while sober in public.
On the other hand, many of us, not ashamed of our history, recognizing the simple joy of throwing plugs now and again, and having thought through the tricky logistics of getting young kids interested in fishing (they need to have FUN), have a well tended stock of spin gear tucked away for the right water on the right day.
