Another spicy one from friend Erik in South Texas –

…here’s another spicy one to help you guys shake off the late winter frostbite up there in the cold North. The tangerine adds a citrus flavor here most of us aren’t used to – we think it’s quite good and have even taken to upping the Habanero amounts of late as their fruity heat just seems to fit somehow.

We’re not sure how the name fits in, but try one, you’ll agree that the name just doesn’t matter.

And kudos to J and K on the engagement announcement.

Cheers from South Padre…

E, I’m off for tangerines this morning…

1 tangerine, quartered
1 Habanero pepper, halved, stemmed and seeded
1 and 1/2 ounces of your favorite reposado tequila
3/4 ounce agave syrup (see below)
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice

For the agave syrup, mix 1 part agave nectar and 1 part water

Muddle the tangerine and a pepper half in a shaker.

Add the tequila , agave syrup and lime juice; now fill the shaker with ice.

Shake, shake, shake.

Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.

Garnish with a tangerine slice or wheel.

Enjoy.
