Comments on proposed rule changes for steelhead (and rainbows) on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula are due on the digital doorstep of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife by 4 November.
While we agree with a guide friend, born and raised in Washington state but now working in Montana, that Washington state remains the epic “dysfunction junction” in terms of steelhead management (as based on actual results since the Boldt Decision), it’s always promising to see good folks working hard to get the Washington steelhead train back on the right track.
Wild Steelheaders United has a nice summary of the proposed rule changes here, along with the needed addresses and links to submit your comments using the tools (pen or pixels) of your choice.
Public comment will also be accepted at a WDWF Commission Meeting in Olympia on the 14th.
