Flying Trees: Restoration on the Salmon River from The Freshwater Trust on Vimeo.

Staff and local contractors have been hard at work in Oregon’s Sandy River Basin. The Freshwater Trust recently helped coordinate the delivery of locally sourced trees from private and public timberlands. This “large wood,” as it is often called in the restoration world, will be strategically placed in Salmon River to improve critical spawning and rearing habitat for native fish. This project was made possible with the help of the following partners:

American Fly Fishing Trade Association, Aquatic Contracting, Bair LLC, Ecotrust, Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, Pacific Power’s Blue Sky Habitat Fund, Portland Water Bureau, Sandy River Basin Partners, The Standard, US Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, community volunteers and other donors and supporters.
