Days Off Are For Fishing

Days off are for fishing.  When you get invited and your schedule ends up working with it, you go.  No matter how tired you are, or how much you have to do at home.  You just go fishing.

Sunday night after getting back from the Missouri, I got a text from guide and friend Ty Webb.  Turns out he had a day off and wanted to know if Shane and I were up for a little fun fishing.  So early the next morning we piled into his car and headed out.  He wanted to fish a stretch of river that historically holds some rather large browns in the fall.

We didn’t get into any of the really bigs ones, although I did have two on that would have been bumping up against the size we were looking for.  We even all brought Spey rods, just to try to swing something up.  I still can’t believe more folks don’t do that for trout…

All in all, it was a really good day on the water.  When you can say that even when you don’t catch the big one, you’re doing something right.
