Quick note about a very nifty program from the Madison-Gallatin TU newsletter last week –

The Trout Unlimited Veteran Services Partnership (VSP) needs your help on August 21st and 22nd! The TU VSP program is helping to host a Men’s Retreat at Chico Hot Springs Lodge for an organization called TAPS – Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. TAPS provides grief counseling and support for families who have lost loved ones while serving in the military.

Trout Unlimited has offered to provide fly fishing activities on August 21st and 22nd for TAPS, and we are looking for 16 volunteers to help take the 32 TAPS folks fly fishing. We’ll be splitting the group in half. On the 21st, half of the group will float the Yellowstone and the other half will fish on two private lakes located west of Emigrant. One August 22nd, we’ll switch groups from the river to the lake, and the lake to the river float. We will need 16 volunteers to help on each of those days. We are in greatest need of volunteers who have a drift boat or raft and are willing to float the Yellowstone, but we could use volunteers to help with the lake fishing too. TU VSP and TAPS will provide lunches, beverages and shuttles for those floating the Yellowstone.

This TAPS trip provides a wonderful opportunity for MGTU to serve the families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We all wouldn’t be enjoying the wonderful opportunities our country offers without these people. We are in desperate need of volunteers!

If you are able to help, please contact Dave Kumlien, Western Coordinator for TU VSP at 406-570-0023 or DKumlien@tu.org

PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING OUT!
