This afternoon I’ll be taking a road trip back to Bozeman. Unfortunately, it will only be for a few days. But I’ll be back Home.
Growing up, my family lived all over the place. Which gave Jess and I a great chance to experience all kinds of cultures, climates, states, and different lifestyles. As a kid, I didn’t really understand the value of that. But now that I am a little older and wiser (?), I begin to get it. Having lived in a bunch of really different places, I can choose the place I call home. “Home” isn’t simply the place I have lived my whole life, or where my family lives. It is where I choose to call it.
That place will always be Montana. It isn’t just because I was born there, and have spent more years there than any other place. It suits me. And no matter how long I am gone, it will always be Home.
I’ll be back, one of these days.
