Many of you who have been faithfully reading Chi Wulff for years are no stranger to the man I am about to introduce.  He has been my friend and fishing buddy for many years.  Many of his pictures have made it up onto this blog over the years, and hopefully many more will come.  Ladies and gentlemen; Shane Rickert.  He was kind enough to offer to write the occasional guest post about things back in God’s Country.  We all looking forward to reading them, and to getting a look at his pictures.  -Jake

Winter fly fishing on the Gallatin River just outside my home of Bozeman, MT is a special time of year. The fish are hungry, river access spots are empty and if you pick the right day, the weather is great.

Last weekend, I made it on the river with a couple of good friends, Ben and Mike. On Saturday, we fished the “valley” section of the river and on Sunday we fished the “Canyon” section. Fishing certainly wasn’t lights out great but we all managed to land a couple of fish. The weather was bluebird and almost spring like too. What more could we ask for?

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Shane, he wrote a quick bio:
I was born and raised in Southern Michigan and have lived in Bozeman now for just shy of 7 years. Fly Fishing is a huge part of my life now in the Big Sky State. Being a self proclaimed streamer junky, I am always in pursuit of the “one”. Keep a eye out for some photo tutorials of streamers that are coming off the vise! I am pleased to say that Jake and the rest of the ChiWulff team have asked me to write about my trout adventures while they are in the PNW chasing the ghost-like steelhead.
