Last night the lady friend and I headed to downtown Tacoma for a night vintage video games at a bar/arcade. It sounds kinda cheesy, but I was lured there by the promise of a selection of good hard cider. And I have a bit of a nerdy side and actually enjoy vintage video games. And when a pretty girl says “Hey, want to do this…”, you say yes.
The evening did not disappoint. Turns out I still suck at pinball and I’m dating a girl who is pretty damn good at air hockey.. During our time down there, we enjoyed several different hard ciders, but my favorite was the Strongbow.
I have always been a fan of hard cider, though most of those I have sampled in the past have been more on the sweet end of things. The Strongbow is much more dry. It has a good crisp taste, part of which comes from it being made with two kinds of apples. They recommend drinking over ice, but out of a cold can I tastes pretty good too.
I didn’t get a chance to taste the other five or six ciders the place carried, so that just means I’ll have to go back…
