This question has been bouncing around the shop for the past week or so. If you had five days in November to go fishing anywhere in North America, where would you go? What would you fish for? There is a wealth of opportunities.
There has been talk of a shop fishing trip (assuming all goes well next year), during which we shut the place down for five days and take off. Opinions about where we should go have ranged from Southeast Alaska to chase steelehead, the Texas Coast for ladyfish, Florida for redfish and bones, and Baja. The only rules are it has to be in November, and it has to be somewhere you could get to and back and enjoy the fishing in five days.
Personally, having never really experienced it, I would be thrilled to go somewhere a bit more tropical. It does perhaps get a little dreary and gray here in November so running to the tropics would be a very refreshing break.
But it is a most intriguing question. When you really start to think about it, there are so many options; so many trips you could take.
Where would you go?
