Bob Glassen posted this morning over on the Headhunters shop blog about a meeting a few weeks ago to begin earnest discussions regarding the formation of a Missouri River Foundation.
We say well done.
Kudos to the event host Missouri River Ranch and all those from the shops, outfitters, guides, lodges and agencies that took the time to get over there and talk turkey about getting this done.
Sounds like the next meeting will be Sunday, 17 November at 3 PM at the Oasis in Wolf Creek.
There are some great models of operating river foundations in the neighborhood, though the job the Henry’s Fork Foundation did in getting all the (at one point in time antagonistic) river interests to work together is something to study carefully and emulate. The Big Hole Watershed Coalition has done some amazing things as well in terms of uniting a coalition of very diverse interests for the good of the watershed.
We’ll support in any way we can gentlemen.
