The MGTU Chapter is spearheading the annual clean up on the Lower Madison this upcoming Saturday. Helping hands are still needed to clean up this fine river section, despite it being treated like a redheaded step child by some in the neighborhood. Details from their email –
Volunteers meet at the Warm Springs fishing access (FAS) parking lot located at the base of Bear Trap Canyon just off the highway going towards Norris. Coffee and fresh muffins/rolls, provided by The Great Harvest Bread Co., will be available as we make a few quick announcements and sign up for sections.
Two Sections to be cleaned will be 1- Warm Springs FAS to Damsel Fly (Cherry Creek) FAS, 2 – Damsel Fly to Blacks Ford FAS and 3 – Blacks Ford to Greycliff FAS. We need volunteers with and w/o boats for this clean up. A total of 6 boats (3 people per boat) are needed to clean sections 1 & 2 and as many people on foot as we can get to help with cleaning up the FAS’s, pull outs, camping areas, etc in all 3 sections. If you are a volunteer bringing a boat and don’t have others coming with you, don’t worry, we will pair you up with people.
Starting around 12:45 pm lunch for the volunteers will be provided as appreciation for your hard work. Lunch is located at the Trapper Springs Pavilion. Sodas and water will be provided.
