Sunny Days Can Be So Distracting

I’ve been sitting here at my desk for the past hour trying to think of something witty or informative to write about.  But the birds are signing outside, the sun is shining, and a very pleasant breeze is blowing through my tiny apartment.  All of these things are combining to create a massive force of distraction.

So I give up on writing and offer you these pictures from the past week:

omnomnom

You could say this nice rainbow devoured that Mega Prince on a dead drift along the bottom, or you could just use internet parlance and say “om nom nom nom”.  Photo by Jake McGlothlin

Hearing a grouse flush out while you’re in bear country actually trying to find a bear is almost a guaranteed heart attack.  This little bastard scared the living hell out of me.  But, once the adrenaline died down and I was assured that a bear wasn’t rushing our vantage point to devour us, all I could think of was this grouse is a living, flying soft hackle.  Tying your own flies is one thing.  Tying your own flies with feathers you shot yourself is another.  Photo by Shane Rickert.
