Go Vote

Today is Election Day, one of the only chances that we, the average citizens, have a real chance to affect the course of our government.  Voting is often taken for granted in our society, but when you think about how many people in the world don’t have that opportunity and would give anything for it, the least you can do is take advantage of it.

Personally, I am a very politically opinionated person.  I’ve been all fired up about this election for months, and many late nights have been spent either debating or talking politics with friends and coworkers.  However, this is a fly fishing blog and is not a platform for political discussions and pushing my choice candidates.  (Although as a gun toting small business owner take a wild guess who I’m voting for.)

Regardless of your personal political views and who you choose to vote for, take the time and vote today.  It’s important, and it’s worth it.

Afterwards, take the day and go fishing.  Turn off your phone, get away from TV and radio and the web, and know that you did your part and the rest is out of your hands.  Fishing will help that election season high blood pressure too.
