A Don’t Miss Primer on Bonefish and Tides

From a link in the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust newsletter this past week comes this gem on the Fly Paper blog – A Primer on the Best Tides for Bonefish.

Suggestion one – remember the opening paragraph:

In the ocean, the moon is at the controls. Pockmarks and all, the moon is the king. His subjects range from the smallest invertebrates to the largest fish and all the creatures in between.

Suggestion two – bookmark this one.

And while some might argue it’s a ‘classic’, I still think Jeff Currier’s description of tides in his book Currier’s Quick and Easy Guide to Saltwater Fly Fishing is one of the cleanest I’ve ever read. My copy of the paperback has been shredded and the binding reglued a few times but I still reach for it now and again on tides.
