Shane and I did a little last minute creeking last night on a new location I hadn’t been before. Timing the return trip, it is five minutes and 45 seconds from my parking lot. Pretty damn awesome.
The water was way high and dirty, and we knew the fishing was going to be bad but Shane wanted to work with his new camera. 450 images and two hours later we called it a night. (He got some good snaps, check back tomorrow for those). On our way out, we found this one, lonely, big ass salmonfly stuck in a branch in the middle of the creek.
Now correct me if I’m wrong, but there shouldn’t be salmonflies at this particular moment. And there sure as hell shouldn’t be any in this creek. But he was very much alive and had apparently just hatched. This warrants closer investigation. More to come.
