Early morning Madison river, Yellowstone National Park.

Jake and I were in the Park working on a project early one August morning. It was damned chilly under the Big Sky (actually Wyoming’s) early that day.

We’d stopped at the Exxon on the west end of Main in Bozeman a few hours before and were told by the wide-eyed clerk we’d just missed Elvis carrying a huge, live grizzly in the back of his pickup.

Damn. Proof once again that timing is everything.
