Thirsty Thursday: Road Trip Edition

in Thirsty Thursday

Today’s Thirsty Thursday has nothing to do with alcohol.  In the next hour or so, I’ll be hitting the road with Jess from Fire Girl Photography (just to avoid any confusion here, she’s my sister, not my wife, girlfriend, etc etc.) and we’ll be headed north to Bozeman by God Montana.  Alcohol and road trips are never a good mix.

My bad on not posting for last Thirsty Thursday.  In the midst of getting ready to move, and waiting on a recipe from a friend that never showed up *cough* Amanda *cough*, it just got swept under the rug and forgotten for a couple days.  It happens.

As some of you know, Mark and I have a tendency to really push distances on long road trips.  Once it gets dark and we get tired, the phrase “Just one more town” or “Just 50 more miles” becomes a mantra along the lines of “Just one more cast”.  You get the picture.  The next morning, and 600 miles later, we might finally stop.

How are we able to do this?  Energy drinks.  Yes, they might be horrible for you.  Yes, the government is going to regulate them.  But damn, they work well.

Rockstar is a personal favorite.  The big cans are the best, somehow having a more robust flavor than smaller offerings.  You knows it’s a good vintage when you untwist the lid and get a satisfying and forceful “Pop!” and the cab of the car instantly fills with the scent of the drink.  Somehow it reminds me of gas station ICEEs..

Well, it’s about that time.  See you guys in Bozeman.
