An Important Lesson from a Carp on the Fly Record

Eric Einspahr, an intrepid fly angler from Nebraska, recently nailed the state record for the (difficult to catch with any gear) silver carp – see the details here (pic above from the article).

The lesson (of course) is that there are fish to chase on the fly anywhere there’s water, even if you’re in territory that doesn’t come to mind when fly fishing is mentioned, or when chasing species that aren’t on most folks’ radar. Attaboy guys, and extra points for getting that cute daughter out there with Dad.
