Some days shit happens on the river, like boots bustin’. That’s why there’s always a rerolled partial strip of duct tape in the boat bag or pack, even if you just say frack it, I ain’t fixing it now.
And isn’t it interesting (and pretty much damned universally true) that the guy or gal with gear duct-taped together in one form or fashion can out fish, out ski, out surf, out walk, etc. the dude or dudette wearing and holding four or five thousand bucks worth of gear.
As much as certain gear purveyors would like you to think otherwise, your gear’s important, but your skills make or break your day on the water. Get out there and wear out some gear…
