Looking Forward to Icy Guides

I was sitting at my desk at work yesterday and realized that I was starting my fourth week there. It’s been almost a month. Wow. Time flies.

I then realized that I have barely gone fishing in a couple of months. Hunting season, girlfriend, and work have been priorities. But we’re coming up on one of the best seasons of the year.

Winter fly fishing takes a special mindset, and if you aren’t prepared for it you’ll have one of the most miserable days you’ve ever had on the river. But the rewards are well worth the risk. The best days I have every year on the water are in the middle of winter.

So cheers to icy guides, post holing through snow, and frozen fingers. Winter is coming.
