What is your personal favorite thing to fish for, and how do you feel that fiberglass helps you enjoy this more?

This question is really difficult for me to answer. Seriously… every fish presents its own challenges. I really enjoy sight fishing to big fish. I guess it takes me back to my hunting roots. I like the challenge of seeing a fish in it’s natural environment and trying to figure out how to trick that thing into eating a feather and a hook. Trout are awesome, but I really like the explosiveness of bass… then again, the ocean is full of tough critters… this question is not fair!

The blanks you sell are available in all kinds of colors that really seem to appeal to the creative side of rod builders. What are some of the most creative and beautiful builds you’ve seen with your blanks?

One of the most exciting parts of selling blank rods is seeing what people come up with on their builds. After all of the time, blood, sweat and tears you have something that you have created that is just how you want it. I have seen a lot creative stuff as well as some beautiful traditional builds. One of my favorite builders is Jory Ward. He puts in so much time and attention into his builds. Everything hand made with love and he has really crated some timeless pieces in his day. There really are too many guys to mention. Every day we have more and more people building on a Blue Halo blank for the first time, and that makes us smile.

What is your RetroFlex Technology?

Retroflex is a name that we have come up that is all encompassing. It includes the Uni-Directional E-Glass that we use, our double wrapped ferrules, our carbon signature in our butt section and our proprietary tapers. All of that and a sugar cube to suck on… That is where our RetroFlex comes from. We wanted to have the slow action that Glass offers and make that available to people again. Same Retro feel that we had when we were young.

Do you think the glass revolution will continue? If so, why?

I think the future of fiberglass is bright. They fill a void that many people have been seeking. I see fiberglass as another tool to catch fish. Sometimes it is the best tool for certain situations, and sometimes it isn’t. Everyone needs one in their quiver.

What can we expect to see from you in the future?

We have a couple of things in store for the future. We are going to continue to sell fly line because people are really loving our line right now. We have a couple of new rod tapers we are working on, and some other exciting things in store. Check out our website for the latest.

Thanks guys!
