John, Mark and the Headhunters gang celebrated the shop’s 7th anniversary / birthday on Saturday the 4th.
It seems like only yesterday, during the depths of the Lehman crash in the winter of 08/09, that Jake and I talked about the fact that only crazy people would be starting a new business, above all a fly shop in Craig, in those economic conditions.
Turns out we were right – they are a little crazy, and they were spot on about their business model.
As all successful operations do, they have their ardent fans as well as stubborn critics, though we’ve seen more than one shop around the West attempt to model what HHs has done right.
Perhaps imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery.
