Baetis Time

One of my favorite hatches of the year is upon us.  The Baetis, or Blue Winged Olive.  We’ve been seeing sporadic hatches here and there for a while, but now we are finally seeing some more consistent numbers.  As water temps continue to warm up into the mid 40s in most places we’ll be seeing more and more of these little guys.  And the fish will be looking up.

Ethan was walking along the Lower Madison last week and was able to get this picture:

Better bring the dry fly rod next time you’re out…  It’s going to be a good Spring.
