MelCam15_350DSCam Mortenson wrote a nifty piece over on The Fiberglass Manifesto this morning (15, read it here) commemorating fifteen years of marriage and the fact that he clearly married up (the image posted to the right carried the title “A rare selfie and proof that I married up”.

Cam, indeed you did. (Only a guy or gal who did as well can say that…)

Team Chi Wulff offers a tip of the hat to Melissa and Cam and all those who have chosen to persist in that grand adventure marriage can be, particularly during a day and age when engagement (no pun intended) with the institution of marriage is plummeting.

Here’s to those men and women out there who have been fortunate enough to ‘marry up’ and worked hard to build something together. I did so thirty years ago this summer and the adventure still continues.

Marriage, with the right partner and foundation, is one of the few things in life where the whole can much, much greater than the sum of the parts. Laws of physics be damned, marriage really can work that way with lots of elbow grease applied.

Now teach her to row and then you’ve really got something.
