277 Miles of Wild

Friend Sinjin Eberle has written a very nice piece (277 Miles of Wild) over at American Rivers detailing a recent trip to a remote section of the Grand Canyon. A very worthy read and we’re unquestionably with Sinjin – the insanity that is the Escalade Project must be stopped and development of the South Rim should be scrutinized from the viewpoint of the most critical currency of the area – water. Massage Your Writer’s Cramp…

OWAA (Outdoor Writers Association of America) is hosting another Off the Record Bozeman meetup the 15th (7 PM) at The Pour House. Hat tip Tom Sadler. From their meetup page

This informal event began two years ago in Missoula, and it only made sense to bring it over to Montana’s other epicenter for outdoor journalism, too. After a great gathering in Bozeman in March, it is time to bring folks together again. The Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA), a national organization based in Missoula, will buy the first few pitchers.

So come down, drink some beer, enjoy the good company and chat about our evolving field of outdoor storytelling. If you want to come by early to grab some grub too, the room will be available by 6 p.m.
