Thirsty Thursday: Baileys and Coffee

The weather is finally starting to turn here in Southwest Montana.  Yesterday, the peaks around town got a pretty good dusting of snow.  There is a crispness in the air that only fall brings.  It’s the season to finally break out the coats and jackets again.  The elk are bugling like crazy in the mountains and the big browns are starting to get more aggressive as they move up the rivers.

The cooler weather brings with it a whole different genre of drinks.  While you can still enjoy the lighter beers of summer, the fruity concoctions, and drinks with umbrellas in them, fall is the time of year to start drinking more rich, hearty stuff.  Everyone has a favorite fall drink or two.  One of mine is Bailey’s Irish Cream and coffee.

This is a very simple drink to make.  Just pour some Bailey’s into the bottom of a coffee cup, fill with fresh, hot coffee, stir and enjoy.  It’s as simple as that.  The Irish cream adds a nice richness to the coffee.  It is the perfect drink on a chilly night after a nice dinner with some friends.

There are a lot of things you can do with Bailey’s, but it doesn’t get any easier than this.
