Foggy Morning on Puget Sound

I was lucky enough to have an invite out to fish the Puget Sound yesterday morning with new friends Steven and Justin.  Somehow it’s never a burden to wake up at 0500h to go fishing or, for that matter, to go shoot photos.

When the two are related it’s even better.

We headed out through fog to an access near the little town of Olalla.  I’ve never fished cold (okay, cool) saltwater before and found just the simple act of wading through the fog and in the Puget Sound to be magical unto itself.  I think I could hang out watching fishermen, sea lions, otters and sea anemones all day long quite happily.

Dense fog made for tough shooting conditions, but with a little creativity (which, rather embarrassedly, included getting wet enough to dip my iPhone held in my chest pocket into the salt) there were some photos to be had.

It’s always an incredible pleasure to see and experience something new, and the Puget Sound is new territory for me!
