Merry Christmas to all from the frozen north.
It’s a chilly -4 this Christmas Eve morning in Bozeman.  Thanks to yesterday’s 4 or 5 inches of new snow it looks as if the neighborhood has been scrubbed clean and whitewashed for the holiday.

Thinking of Warmer Waters….

The temperature outside has risen to a balmy -9 by mid-morning today after a brisk -21 last night.
It’s been chilly damned cold now for several days;   the temps dipped to -26 the night before  and couldn’t do any better than -6 for a high yesterday.  There’s a fine snow falling this morning and more due through [...]

Went up to do some nymphing on the upper Gallatin – too damned cold (in the 2 to 3 degree range and windy yesterday).  There’s still some open water in the Canyon above Big Sky, but not for long.  Cool shot of anchor ice forming along the bottom (the last pic…)

Damn – Missing the Season Already….

Damn, missing the season already.
It was -7 in Bozeman this morning with some cold weather due for the weekend and next week.  Ouch.

Ended up taking a business meeting on the road through Paradise Valley and then on into the Lamar Valley of YNP yesterday afternoon.  Pre-storm temps were relatively toasty – pushing 50 leaving Livingston right after lunch, and 42 in Gardiner an hour later.
